well, within the next week or so, school will officially be over for the 2010/11 year. i’ll be completely honest…this year FLEW BY! i can’t even begin to process all that’s happened this year, but i’m happy that as a youth ministry we were able to do that together on sunday night. our end of the year BBQ is always an awesome night: hockey, ultimate frisbee, dodgeball, and food….a match made close to heaven:) but on a serious note, we had a change to look back at the past year to remember and thank God for all that we’ve seen happen this year. it’s been a WONDERFUL year…
but all good things much come to and end…right?
NO WAY!!! not with LHCyouth baby! when summer comes, we kick it into HIGH GEAR! even though we take a breath from PBbk & youth group, we’ve got events thrown all over the summer calendar: dorney park, go karts, laser tag, disc gold, hiking, MESSY GAMES, hockey nights, and the list goes on and on… it’s going to be amazing:)

we’ve got one of my favorite service projects coming up on saturday, our annual FREE carwash. what i love most about this event is that it combines so many cool ideas into one morning/afternoon. we all get there about 7:30, all tired and out of it… then by 10 am EVERYTHING has changed. it’s become the most wet, fun, exciting time together.
i think there’s a reason for this: God loves when we serve people and it energizes our heart. because the carwash is free, and we take absolutely NO DONATIONS while washing cars…it’s done completely because we want to car for our neighbors…with nothing expected in return. it’s SO freeing to just serve…LOVE IT!!
we’d love for you to come and help, bring your car(s), or tell friends to bring their car(s)…here’s the details:
Time: 8am-2pm (if you’re helping, be there in b/t 7:15-7:30)
Location: Next to LHCgym @ 525 Shunpike Rd.
can’t wait to see you all!

Hey Gang!
This sunday, in addition to our normal Youth Group event, we are having a special addition, we’re calling it “old night out.” Old night is a form of costume party! Everyone is encouraged to come dressed as Old school, old fashioned, retro, or ancient as you can. There will free food prizes for the winners of “Old Night Out Fashion Show!” We’re going to have a grand old time, dressing up, trying to play games in said costumes and even having older music going on while we spend time together!

(Looking more fantastic than Him /\ because he wont be there)
Bring your friends, come dressed to the max, and be ready for a night of fun friends and old school grandeur!
I look forward to seeing you all there!
Also be aware that the meetings times for this event are the same as normal Youth Group – Jr High 5-6:30, Sr High 7:30-9!
Grace and Peace~

Hey Gang,
As I drove to work this past week, I saw a tumble-weed rolling along the side of the road. This wasn’t your normal tumble-weed, you see it was completely made of pollen! For a minute or so, I laughed at what I saw – since that would be the normality, if I lived in Texas – but then I realized what I was looking at, and how much congestion would come from that weed. It also made me realize how often I look at spiritual things in the same manner; I think it looks nifty and laugh about it, but fail to see how something will congest me and prevent (if you’ll allow the symbolism) clear breathing. Keeping me from breathing in Life, and instead blocking up my nose.
At PBBK this past week, we talked about how in Romans 14 paul talks about how there are different levels of strength of faith. How some people could eat food used for sacrificing to false gods, and saw only food made by GOD before them; and how others saw cursed meat that would defile them. And this whole idea of weak or strong faith came into play, and how if you are strong, use your strength to help other’s walks; not judge them or look down on them. With the tumble-weed, I’m pretty resistant to pollen, but I know many people who suffer this time of year; so for me to take the tumble-weed and throw it at said people would be cruel and wouldn’t be using my strength to help others.
We then dove into the idea of how RIGHT is our actions. Are we fully convinced that they are indeed right, or past right, are they the Best actions we can partake in; are they done to honor Jesus or ourselves; and if Jesus would to sit in judgement on our actions what would he say? A great time to look back on choices and actions of our past and see our tendencies and reasons for doing.

Hope to see ya’ll at PBBK and Sunday Nights!
Grace and Peace~
