can you believe that we leave for Lake Champion on friday?! i know…i’m super excited too:) this is a sneak peak at last weekend…and we’re expecting about 125 more students this week:)
here’s the details for those of you going:
leave from LHC @ 5pm on friday *please bring money for dinner on the way up
pack all of your essentials (found on your registration sheet…lost it? go here…and it’s going to be COLD!!! jacket, hats, and gloves are a must)
bring extra money for our offering on sunday am, it’s going towards the Alliance Youth Project and Project Experience
we’ll be returning to LHC around 3pm. students will call using leaders phones (they are not allowed to bring theirs!) on the way back so that you’ll have a firm time…

it’s officially LAKE CHAMPION TIME again!! most definitely one of our favorite times of the year as a group for sooo many reasons. but here’s some of the things you’ll need to know going into this season.
1) Work Crew for the the Sr High Weekend is ON! dates are march 25-27 and the cost is sleep and relaxation:) you’ll be giving up a lot of both to help, but it’s an AMAZING time to serve other groups in our district. if you need more info or would like to sign up, let me or deb know via email (jimmy [@] LHCnj.net, deb [@] LHCyouth.com) or facebook b/c space is VERY limited!
2) the following weekend we’ll be heading up as a group, jr & sr high) to worship & grow together. you’ll need to fill out the registration form (found either in the cafe, or online in the downloads section). space for this weekend is also extremely limited so be sure to get your forms to me or deb ASAP. even if you need to pay later or break it up, we need your forms to secure you a spot. the cost is $125 and that covers everything outside of your meals up and back.

March seems to be the time we focus on serving…and i love that b/c it’s as a church we tend to draw our attention to what God is doing on the missions field through our missionaries. missions week kicks up this sunday! how awesome is that?! and we’ll have some missions events for LHCyouth:)
PLEASE remember that we get the privilege to serve our church on the 21st for our missions banquet following the 2nd service. if you are able to help, please get in contact with me (pastor jimmy) so i can compile a list.
there is also a SR HIGH ONLY service project up at lake champion. we’ll be heading to Lake Champion from March 26-28 to help serve the high schoolers in our district while they are on their retreat. there is very limited space for this weekend and you’ll need to sign-up ASAP with pastor jimmy to make sure you can go. we’ll be connecting with stonecrest community church too…so you know it’s gonna be fun:)

ok…soo….looks like we got some weather coming our way…
here’s the deal. our journey out tonight won’t be a big deal. just cold:) our journey home on sunday is the big question i’m getting. please know that the biggest concern for this weekend is your child’s safety. by no means will we jump in cars/vans if the roads don’t look safe. we’ll be monitoring it very closely and i’ll be sure t0 update this blog if we see any changes to our plans. if anything, we’ll leave a touch later than expected to give the roads time to be salted and plowed:)

should i leave anything at home? GLAD YOU ASKED!! make sure not to bring iPods/mp3 players, cell phones, or gaming devices.
this weekend it time for the leaders to get away and recharge! i can’t begin to tell you how excited we are as a group of leaders to actually retreat from the fast paced north jersey life and head to lake champion for refreshment. last year, our 1st time up as just leaders, we heard birds for the 1st time…and we’ve been going there for 10+ years!!
just wanted to say thanks to those of you who gave and helped our leaders get to the retreat and to those of you who i know are praying for this weekend. thank you thank you thank you!
and just as a reminder…no youth group this weekend…we’re letting our leaders recharge remember!! ;o)
