LIFE/JHC Car Wash
This is without a doubt one of my favorite fundraisers b/c it gives everyone a shot at making a HUGE amount of money (one student raised almost $1600 last year!) and we get to serve our community.
Let me explain a little more for you how this works so you’ve got the big idea…
We’ll be asking the church to sponsor us per car that we wash (up to 100 cars). We did it last week at church and we’ll be doing it again this week. Usually people sponsor anywhere from $.10 to $1.00 a car. That ends up being $10 to $100:). The money that we raise on Sunday morning is spread out through everyone who is going to both LIFE and JHC…it’s like the community pot. We need your help Sunday morning so please be there 10 minutes before 1st service ends and the same with the 2nd service~
This sheet here (Car Wash Sponsor Form) is for YOU. This will help you keep track of the friends and family that you call personally to sponsor you. Remember, these sponsorships go directly into your account for LIFE/JHC. If you raise $500 on your own, that goes just to you…it’s not part of the community pot. This is a great time to call grandma and grandpa in FL, aunts and uncles, family friends and do everything you can to raise support.
There will be a $150 bonus for the three people who raise the most support on their own ($75 for 1st, $50 for 2nd, and $25 for 3rd).
The reason we do the car wash this way is so we’re not looking for donations when we wash cars. This helps us to keep it TOTALLY FREE for everyone who brings their car to be washed. It’s so funny when people try to give us money and we don’t accept it… The look of surprise, confusion, and when they pull away and you hear them calling friends on the phone telling them, “You’re not going to believe this…it’s ACTUALLY FREE…” makes it totally worth it~
