Well this summer has become by far one of the most active, and awesome we’ve had in about a year! With Life2010 – which was not only mind blowing, but it was Life changing. I encourage you to find any student that went and see how God has changed them. – Boston Project, which also was an amazing summer trip with life changing results, and the South Jersey VBS trip, when students get to serve kids and show Jesus’s love!
We have a few huge things coming up still! We have our annual Laser Tag event, coming up on Aug 22nd, for both Jr. and Sr. High! It’s a costume contest, laser tag warfare, arcade, and pizza parlor all in one! It’s going to be Legen- wait for it – Dairy! Legendary!! For more info and Questions contact Jeff Ryan at Jeff@LHCYouth.com.
We are also having are two traditional Hiking With Jesus, on both aug 12th and the 19th – times are on the calendar, and remember to bring a packed lunch – which will be amazing. As we sit in the woods and spend time with Jesus!
All in all, this summer has been a huge blessing and God has been doing some Awesome things in the students’ lives!
Water Wars was an absolute blast! Don’t believe me, ask one of the kids that was there. Despite the fact that it was raining out, it was great getting hit with water balloons and getting more soaked.
It seems that the summer is moving faster and faster, and getting better and better. The next event on our list of awesomeness is DORNEY PARK!!!!!!
We will be leaving the church at 8am, so don’t be late, and shall return at 8:30 at night. Spots are in short supply this year, so the first people who get their forms and get paid up will be the first to come. The cost is $45 (NOT covering lunch and dinner for the students), and must be paid before the day of the event.
This is one of those events you do NOT want to miss! It truly will be…awesome!

Hey Y’All!
Car wash was an absolute blast, thanks to all who helped out in anyway whatsoever; it was priceless.
Now for our next awesome event…
As this is our last Youth Group meeting – at our normal time – for the summer, we thought that we should end it with not just a blast, but a massive water explosion of awesomeness! So Jeff and I have planned a full evening of water events, games, worship, and so much more. This is a great event for students to bring their friends out to. To see what our Youth Group is like, and get an idea of our summers events.
But for any great event, we have some major preparations ahead of us. This saturday, the 12th, starting at 12pm and going till 10pm, we will be filling balloons up in the gym and inviting people to come to the sunday event. All students are welcome to help us out – come with $5 for pizza – and are encouraged to come with a list of friends they can call to invite to Water Wars. (Facebook, to sign up for prep. )
Water Wars will be starting at 5:30pm Sunday the 13th, both Jr. and Sr. high are included in this event – for it will be that awesome! – and the event will go till 9pm. Much like our other events, please dress modestly; ladies please wear a colored T-shirt and shorts over your bathing suits, guys stop smirking because you’re next, gents please no speedos and please also wear a colored shirt.
We are hoping to use over 2000 water balloons for a wide variety of games, everything from giant launchers, to a swimming pool specially designed for wrestling! As i have said before for such events: it’s going to be Legen- wait for it, hope you’re not lactose intolerant – dairy! Legendary!!!!
So come out and bring your friends! (Facebook event: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=127168457307525&ref=ts )
See you all then
It’s here! Our annul car wash has come around again! It seems as if it was yesterday, when we had our last car wash fund raiser. Many things have changed since then, and many things haven’t.
One thing that hasn’t changed at all is the fact that we are having the car wash fund raiser – This coming saturday (the 5th), from 8am-2pm – one thing that has definitely changed is the fund raising part of it. I don’t want to sound like Mr. Negative, but because of all the issues with the economy and jobs, the fund raising part of this event isn’t moving as smoothly as we would have hoped. Since this is our most popular fund raiser, we normally have a great turn out; from it we are able to help pay for much of the students bill for their trips. Praying through it, and talking through it with the other leaders here in the youth ministry, we are trying to find ways of gaining more pledges and attracting more people to the event itself. We covet your prayers more than anything in this.
Now don’t get me wrong, this event is still going to rock-rock-on! Because of all the students and leaders that are giving their time and energy to make it happen. So in light of that: Students, be at LHC at 7:30 am, to be placed on your teams and go through “car washing 101″ (trust me, we all need a refresher course), and for everyone who plans on bringing cars to the event, we open for business at 8am! Come get your car washed!!!!
it’s that time of the year again, the time where we all start to prep and get ready for what could very well be the highlight of the Spring. METRO RETREAT TIME!!! that’s right baby…2 full weekends up at Lake Champion in beautiful Glen Spey, NY!
registration forms can be found in the cafe for now, and will be online soon (minor hosting issue…that’s the reason for the delay in some audio too). all the details you’ll need will be on those forms…and if there is anything you need in addition to it, please feel free to contact me via the contact form on this site.
and a heads up on this weekend. sr high will be headed to Lake Champion to serve as work crew:) so there will be no Sr High Youth Group, but WE WILL HAVE JR HIGH THIS WEEK!!! see you there:)
